Welcome to Kigali, a city that surprises everyone who visits. As soon as you land, you’ll notice something unique: the streets are spotless, the traffic calm, and the people incredibly welcoming. We’ll begin with a guided city tour, visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial a deeply moving but essential experience that honors the memory of the victims while showcasing Rwanda’s extraordinary path to reconciliation and peace. We’ll also stop at the Nyamirambo Women’s Center, where local women empower themselves through entrepreneurship and storytelling. End the day at Caplaki Handicraft Market, filled with handmade baskets, wood carvings, and vibrant fabrics.Overnight in Kigali

Day 2: Journey to the Volcanoes – Culture in the Foothills of Giants

After breakfast, we drive through rolling green hills, tea plantations, and rural villages toward Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. But first, we stop at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where former poachers have transformed into cultural ambassadors. Here, you’ll step into traditional Rwandan life: try your hand at drumming, learn about medicinal plants, taste banana beer, and witness warrior dances once performed for kings.

Day 3: Face to Face with the Gentle Giants – Gorilla Trekking

This is the day most people dream of their entire lives. You’ll rise early and head into the lush, mist-covered forests of Volcanoes National Park with expert trackers. The trek might be short or long, depending on where the gorillas are that day. Then suddenly a branch snaps, a chest thumps and you’re face to face with a silverback gorilla, watching over his family. You’ll observe their interactions: mothers grooming infants, playful juveniles tumbling through the undergrowth. You are not just a visitor here you are a respectful guest in their ancient mountain home. This is one of the most intimate wildlife encounters on Earth.

Overnight in Musanze. Enjoy dinner with volcano views.

Day 4: Lakes Burera & Ruhondo – Twin Jewels of the Highlands

Today we leave the forest and discover a quieter, mystical side of Rwanda the twin crater lakes Burera and Ruhondo. These lakes, framed by steep hills and the towering peaks of the Virunga volcano chain, are almost too beautiful to believe. We’ll enjoy a boat ride across calm waters, passing fishermen in dugout canoes and stopping at islands where life moves at a slower, traditional pace. This is a chance to take in the spiritual beauty of Rwanda’s landscape. After the lakes, we drive west to Lake Kivu, arriving in the lakeside town of Gisenyi, where warm hospitality meets breezy beaches.

Day 5: Lake Kivu – Hot Springs, Fishing Life & Leisure

This morning, we’ll visit local hot springs where community members come to relax, soak, and share stories, an age-old wellness ritual. Then, we board a traditional boat to meet local fishermen, who chant in unison as they row, their rhythm echoing across the lake. You’ll see how families have fished these waters for generations and taste fresh grilled sambaza, a local delicacy. The rest of the day is yours to swim, kayak, or simply relax on the volcanic beaches with a cold drink.

Overnight at Lake Kivu.

Day 6: Kibuye to Nyungwe – Rwanda’s Western Beauty

At dawn, you’ll venture into the cool, misty rainforest in search of chimpanzees. You may hear them before you see them screeching, hooting, laughing in the treetops. Watching them leap from tree to tree is like witnessing the jungle come alive. Prefer a different thrill? Take the Nyungwe Canopy Walk, a high suspension bridge 70 meters above the forest floor. From here, see a sea of green stretching endlessly — orchids, ferns, and exotic birds in every direction. In the afternoon, we return to Kigali through the lush countryside.
